New Orleans Rowing Club

Are you new to rowing and want to get in a boat? You're in the right place! NORC offers group lessons each spring, summer, and fall. We also offer private lessons on an as-available basis. 

*Note: Participants must be able to swim 100 yards in any style and float for five minutes unassisted. Due to equipment weight limitations, participants must be under 240 pounds. ​

Adult Group Classes

You will learn the basics of rowing, potentially including both sculling (2-oared rowing) and sweep rowing (1-oared rowing) during these classes. At the end of the course, you will be ready to join NORC’s Masters team as a recreational or competitive rower. ​

Times : Th/Fr/Mo 5:30p - 7:30p , Sat/Sun 9:00a - 11:00a

What : Spring intensive - Five consecutive days (weather depending) to learn the skills required to move a boat proficiently, with the option to join NORC as a recreational rower upon completion!
