It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the great Fred King after a 10 year battle with cancer. Fred was the heart and soul of New Orleans Rowing Club, and without his leadership and dedication the club wouldn't be here today. Fred served as the president of NORC for decades and represented the club at events around the world. He was beloved by the entire rowing community for his charm, kindness, and his utter devotion to teaching others the sport he loved. The boathouse will not be the same without his booming laugh, outrageous stories, and of course without him pulling crazy things out of the bayou. We will miss him dearly, but he will never be forgotten.

Rest in Peace, Fred King. We promise to make you proud and know that you will be cheering us on from Heaven.
